Ypsos, the flagship vertical machining center developed by CMS for float and laminated glass sheets is now evolving into Ypsos MK2! The
design was conceived to achieve the best reliability ever in the vertical CNC category.
The new Active VGlass software was designed to make the user interface more efficient and user-friendly than before.
Ypsos mk2 can perform seaming, grinding and polishing, milling and coaxial drilling, depending on options.
The machine combines precision and absolute quality with the productivity and versatility benefits that are typical of vertical CNC
machining centers.
Available in 3 standard sizes, 3200 x 2200 mm, 4500 x 2800 mm and 6000 x 3300 mm, all with a minimum part size of 420 x 270 mm
(custom sizes are available on request).
Ypsos mk2 can be used as a stand-alone machine, in line with a drill-mill or washer, or within an insulating line.

ACTIVE VGLASS: SOFTWARE AND USER INTERFACE USING CNC HAS NEVER BEEN SO EASY!
Active VGlass is the simplest and most user-friendly interface CMS has ever created for the Glass Technology range of vertical CNC machining centers. It was created to guide the operator through every stage of the process, from setting up the machine to fabricating the part. The result is a natural work flow, in which every step provides the operator with precisely the information they need, when they need it.
Fabricating with glass using Active VGlass can be summarized in three steps: tooling - drawing - fabrication. -
HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF A POLISHED GRINDING?
Ypsos can be equipped with a second spindle, able to perform arising and coarse or polished edge grinding operations. The second head allows the automatic tool change in presence of at least one rotary magazine.

A TOOL FOR EVERY OPERATION
Up to two rotary magazines can be installed to house the ISO40 tool-holding cones. Each magazine features 13 positions, and each cone can house up to 50mm of tool thickness. Additionally, multi-profile tools are allowed, such as milling machines and combined profiles.

FOCUS ON WHAT’S ESSENTIAL - YPSOS WILL DO THE REST!
Ypsos can be equipped with a fully automated grinding wheel and core bit truing system. Thanks to the machine software, it is possible to set after how many processed material meters/holes the grinding wheels and core bits must undergo truing. Ypsos continuously monitors the tool wear state, and automatically chooses the right moment to start the truing process.
